Gautam Gambhir picks his all-time Indian Test XI; MS Dhoni is not the captain of the team!

Former Indian opener and World Cup winner, Gautam Gambhir, has followed the trend of picking all-times XIs as he has selected his own all-time Indian Test XI. The Indian Test team has dominated the most extended format of the game over the last few years, staying in the top five of the rankings almost all the time.

Several legendary players like Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and several others have represented India in this form of the sport. Surprisingly, Gambhir has left out Laxman of his all-time XI as he has preferred to have the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, in his place. Also, he did not assign the captaincy role to MS Dhoni and instead went with Anil Kumble.

Gambhir even felt that Kumble would have broken several records had he captained the team for a longer duration. Here is how Gambhir's all-time Test XI looks:

Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble (captain), Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath.

Kapil Dev is the only all-rounder of the team while he has selected neither Ravindra Jadeja nor Ravichandran Ashwin in his side. Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath were the obvious choices for the fast bowlers' role, with Ishant Sharma being the only option worth considering for an all-time Indian Test XI.
